A compact yet powerful lathe constructed predominantly from grey cast iron, precision milled for accuracy and smoothness in operation. Featuring 15”(375mm) between centres, with an optional lathe bed extension available to increase this capacity to a maximum of 39"(990mm), the Fox Tools midilathe is versatility itself. In addition, a respectable 10”(250mm) bowl turning capacity is achievable To support this, a 3/4Hp powerful, yet whisper quiet induction motor provides more than sufficient power to accommodate challenging woodturning tasks without slowing or stalling. Maximum power transmission is guaranteed via a high performance serpentine belt system and a combination of six grooved pullies, enabling turning speeds from 410RPM up to 3050RPM. Speed selection is pure simplicity, with easy access and a quick release system for hassle-free changeover.
As in the complete range, Fox Tools have used industry standard components, enabling a wide range of accessories to be utilised with this lathe. The main drive spindle has an 1" x 8tpi thread, coupled with a morse No.2 taper. A hollow tail stock facilitates up to 3/8" hole boring for applications such as lamp making. The midi weighs 35Kg and comes as standard with a 6" cast tool rest, face plate, spur centre and revolving centre.
