It features a powerful lhp induction motor, facilitating mortices of up to 1” (25.4mm) in softwoods and 3/4” (19mm) in hardwoods with consummate ease. A maximum timber height of 8” (200mm) can be morticed with this machine, enabling larger joinery tasks to be performed. A precision milled cast iron table offers both lateral and longitudinal adjustment via well positioned hand wheels. Fox have utilised the tried and tested dovetail housing system with rack and pinion for both the table and headstock. Coupled with this, a hydraulic gas strut provides a counterbalance, ensuring on optimum control and a reassuring quality of movement In operation. Ease of operation is further enhanced with three quick-action clamps, which hold the workplece securely whilst chiselling. Additionally, an adjustable depth stop allows precise, consistent mortice depths for production runs. Supplied as standard with a lockable cabinet base, the Fox F14-656 morticer is freestanding and weighs 124kg.
